Eight new-construction luxury townhomes are located amidst the center of Philadelphia’s Old City. The designs for these homes were faced with challenging limitations; a small lot size, minimal access to sunlight, and limited access from the street are a few examples. Ambit provided solutions for the project by organizing the homes in an unconventional way, creating a centralized open core allowing for abundant daylight exposure while simultaneously minimizing the impact to the street frontage. Doing as such, the rhythm of the street is kept in a balanced manner that respects the scale of the historic facades, while presenting a modern environment to cater to contemporary lifestyle.
Each townhome is comprised of roughly 3,000 square feet with four bedrooms, three and a half baths, and two decks with spectacular views of Center City or the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. Each townhome is constructed of locally familiar and available materials such as brick, limestone, and thermal poplar.
