This renovation to an existing 1,600sf mid-century home focused on creating more “livable” space for a family of four. It was not only important to update the home’s existing amenities to the 21st century, but to maintain the spirit of the original design intent. Existing colonial trimwork and embellishments that were added at the turn of the century were stripped away. Interior walls and spaces were re-shaped, utilizing the home’s existing high ceilings and split-level design. New windows and doors were cut-in to gain more natural light and highlight views to the redesigned front and rear yards. New custom cabinets and furnishings by Ambit were an essential part to creating a new cohesive home, both inside and out.
